The Atomic Age: The Discovery and Evolution of Nuclear Science
The atomic age began with a handful of scientists investigating radioactivity decades before the first atomic bomb exploded at the Trinity Test Site, New Mexico on July 16, 1945. The Atomic Age: The Discovery and Evolution of Nuclear Science describes the earliest discoveries by pioneering physicists, highlights the work of the scientists associated with the Manhattan Project, explores President Dwight D. Eisenhower's Atoms for Peace initiative to promote civilians uses of nuclear
science and examines the direct influence and impact of these events on modern peaceful applications of nuclear science in energy and medicine.
